Built in 1923
Architect: A. Arthur Cox
Once
the site of the Clarence Hotel which influenced the design of the
adjacent IOOF Lodge building, it is now the location of the Bank of
Nova Scotia. Designed in a Classical Revival style, this stone-faced
bank shows the late interpretation of the Temple Bank style. It is a
prominent landmark in downtown Victoria and is part of the historic
character of Yates Street.
